Three Snipers executed Pat Tillman!?!?!?

Was Pat Tillman Murdered by an American Sharpshooter to Shut Him up?

By Richard Clark

Was Pat Tillman assassinated to prevent him from coming home to expose the fact that our troops have been ordered to guard, and even help produce and store the opium of Afghan warlords? Was it also because he had been corresponding with Noam Chomsky and was planning on returning to the US to help reinvigorate the anti-war movement?

Here's what Pat Tillman knew about and wanted to talk about to the US media:

A Marine commander pretends that the Afghan poppy growers will soon be growing vegetables, and Geraldo Rivera participates in the ruse:

Report from the Daily Mail in London:

"Is it coincidence that after more than three years it has been discovered that there were never-before-mentioned US snipers in the Ranger group following Tillman's? Could there have been a secret sniper on a mission to Afghanistan to assassinate the Army's poster boy?

Or perhaps three assassins, because as a general rule snipers fire in single shots, from specially tuned rifles, rather than in bursts of three.

Could the likelihood that Tillman (who had been corresponding with Noam Chomsky) was going to become a voice for the anti-war movement be why his journal, which he'd kept since age 16, went missing? It disappeared, along with most of his possessions, two days after he died.

"It's time to really ask who ordered the assassination of Pat Tillman," wrote blogger Josh Swiller on The Huffington Post, a mainstream website.

First there were tales of Tillman having a personal altercation with another member of his squad, and then there were the stories of Tillman demanding to know why all the poppy fields were so huge, growing so well, and "so well protected.'

What gives it away to me was the constant waffling of "the truth" and the final accounting that Tillman had been killed with three M16 .223 rounds to his forehead fired at close range. Tillman and his murderer must have looked each other in the eyes!

I think Tillman had been asking too many questions and wanted to know why we were doing nothing (except protecting) the many vast fields planted with opium poppies in Afghanistan. And he got murdered for it. The US Army and other organizations continue to cover up the real story behind Ranger Pat Tillman's murder."

But could the CIA really stoop to the level of arranging for U.S. Marines to help protect opium poppy fields? Here's your answer, including photographs:

US/NATO Troops Patrolling Opium Poppy Fields in Afghanistan ...May 21, 2010 ... An Afghani farmer stands in the middle of his poppy field in Delaram, Afghanistan, watching U.S. Marines from 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment. Nice to know our military is protecting something important.

What if Army poster boy Tillman were to have returned home and spilled this story to the mainstream media? What would that have done to Army recruiting and the war effort in Afghanistan?

Also, consider, this report from the New York Times:

"The relationship between Mr. Karzai and the C.I.A. is wide ranging, several American officials said. He helps the C.I.A. operate a paramilitary group, the Kandahar Strike Force, that is used for raids against suspected insurgents and terrorists. On at least one occasion, the strike force has been accused of mounting an unauthorized operation against an official of the Afghan government, the officials said.

Mr. Karzai is also paid for allowing the C.I.A. and American Special Operations troops to rent a large compound outside the city -- the former home of Mullah Mohammed Omar, the Taliban's founder. The same compound is also the base of the Kandahar Strike Force. "He's our landlord," a senior American official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

Mr. Karzai also helps the C.I.A. communicate with and sometimes meet with Afghans loyal to the Taliban. Mr. Karzai's role as a go-between between the Americans and the Taliban is now regarded as valuable by those who support working with Mr. Karzai, as the Obama administration is placing a greater focus on encouraging Taliban leaders to change sides.

A C.I.A. spokesman declined to comment for this article."

Brother of Afghan Leader Said to Be Paid by C.I.A.

By DEXTER FILKINS, MARK MAZZETTI and JAMES RISEN Published: October 27, 2009

KABUL, Afghanistan -- Ahmed Wali Karzai, the brother of the Afghan president and a suspected player in the country.s booming illegal opium trade, gets regular payments from the Central Intelligence Agency, and has for much of the past eight years, according to current and former American officials.

The agency pays Mr. Karzai for a variety of services, including helping to recruit an Afghan paramilitary force that operates at the C.I.A..s direction in and around the southern city of Kandahar, Mr. Karzai.s home.

The financial ties and close working relationship between the intelligence agency and Mr. Karzai raise significant questions about America.s war strategy, which is currently under review at the White House.

The ties to Mr. Karzai have created deep divisions within the Obama administration. The critics say the ties complicate America.s increasingly tense relationship with President Hamid Karzai, who has struggled to build sustained popularity among Afghans and has long been portrayed by the Taliban as an American puppet. The C.I.A..s practices also suggest that the United States is not doing everything in its power to stamp out the lucrative Afghan drug trade, a major source of revenue for the Taliban.

More broadly, some American officials argue that the reliance on Ahmed Wali Karzai, the most powerful figure in a large area of southern Afghanistan where the Taliban insurgency is strongest, undermines the American push to develop an effective central government that can maintain law and order and eventually allow the United States to withdraw.

"If we are going to conduct a population-centric strategy in Afghanistan, and we are perceived as backing thugs, then we are just undermining ourselves," said Maj. Gen. Michael T. Flynn, the senior American military intelligence official in Afghanistan.

Ahmed Wali Karzai said in an interview that he cooperated with American civilian and military officials, but did not engage in the drug trade and did not receive payments from the C.I.A.

The relationship between Mr.

Mr. Karzai is also paid for allowing the C.I.A. and American Special Operations troops to rent a large compound outside the city -- the former home of Mullah Mohammed Omar, the Taliban.s founder. The same compound is also the base of the Kandahar Strike Force. "He.s our landlord," a senior American official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

Mr. Karzai also helps the C.I.A. communicate with and sometimes meet with Afghans loyal to the Taliban. Mr. Karzai.s role as a go-between between the Americans and the Taliban is now regarded as valuable by those who support working with Mr. Karzai, as the Obama administration is placing a greater focus on encouraging Taliban leaders to change sides.

A C.I.A. spokesman declined to comment for this article.

"No intelligence organization worth the name would ever entertain these kind of allegations," said Paul Gimigliano, the spokesman.

Some American officials said that the allegations of Mr. Karzai.s role in the drug trade were not conclusive.

"There.s no proof of Ahmed Wali Karzai.s involvement in drug trafficking, certainly nothing that would stand up in court," said one American official familiar with the intelligence. "And you can.t ignore what the Afghan government has done for American counterterrorism efforts."

At the start of the Afghan war, just after the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the United States, American officials paid warlords with questionable backgrounds to help topple the Taliban and maintain order with relatively few American troops committed to fight in the country. But as the Taliban has become resurgent and the war has intensified, Americans have increasingly viewed a strong and credible central government as crucial to turning back the Taliban.s advances.

Now, with more American lives on the line, the relationship with Mr. Karzai is setting off anger and frustration among American military officers and other officials in the Obama administration. They say that Mr. Karzai.s suspected role in the drug trade, as well as what they describe as the mafialike way that he lords over southern Afghanistan, makes him a malevolent force.

These military and political officials say the evidence, though largely circumstantial, suggests strongly that Mr. Karzai has enriched himself by helping the illegal trade in poppy and opium to flourish. The assessment of these military and senior officials in the Obama administration dovetails with that of senior officials in the Bush administration.

"Hundreds of millions of dollars in drug money are flowing through the southern region, and nothing happens in southern Afghanistan without the regional leadership knowing about it," a senior American military officer in Kabul said. Like most of the officials in this article, he spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the secrecy of the information.

"If it looks like a duck, and it quacks like a duck, it.s probably a duck," the American officer said of Mr. Karzai. "Our assumption is that he.s benefiting from the drug trade."

American officials say that Afghanistan.s opium trade, the largest in the world, directly threatens the stability of the Afghan state, by providing a large percentage of the money the Taliban needs for its operations, and also by corrupting Afghan public officials to help the trade flourish.

The Obama administration has repeatedly vowed to crack down on the drug lords who are believed to permeate the highest levels of President Karzai.s administration. They have pressed him to move his brother out of southern Afghanistan, but he has so far refused to do so.

Other Western officials pointed to evidence that Ahmed Wali Karzai orchestrated the manufacture of hundreds of thousands of phony ballots for his brother.s re-election effort in August. He is also believed to have been responsible for setting up dozens of so-called ghost polling stations -- existing only on paper -- that were used to manufacture tens of thousands of phony ballots.

"The only way to clean up Chicago is to get rid of Capone," General Flynn said.

In the interview in which he denied a role in the drug trade or taking money from the C.I.A., Ahmed Wali Karzai said he received regular payments from his brother, the president, for "expenses," but said he did not know where the money came from. He has, among other things, introduced Americans to insurgents considering changing sides. And he has given the Americans intelligence, he said. But he said he was not compensated for that assistance.

"I don.t know anyone under the name of the C.I.A.," Mr. Karzai said. "I have never received any money from any organization. I help, definitely. I help other Americans wherever I can. This is my duty as an Afghan."

Mr. Karzai acknowledged that the C.I.A. and Special Operations troops stayed at Mullah Omar.s old compound. And he acknowledged that the Kandahar Strike Force was based there. But he said he had no involvement with them.

A former C.I.A. officer with experience in Afghanistan said the agency relied heavily on Ahmed Wali Karzai, and often based covert operatives at compounds he owned. Any connections Mr. Karzai might have had to the drug trade mattered little to C.I.A. officers focused on counterterrorism missions, the officer said.

"Virtually every significant Afghan figure has had brushes with the drug trade," he said. "If you are looking for Mother Teresa, she doesn.t live in Afghanistan."

The debate over Ahmed Wali Karzai, which began when President Obama took office in January, intensified in June, when the C.I.A..s local paramilitary group, the Kandahar Strike Force, shot and killed Kandahar.s provincial police chief, Matiullah Qati, in a still-unexplained shootout at the office of a local prosecutor.

The circumstances surrounding Mr. Qati.s death remain shrouded in mystery. It is unclear, for instance, if any agency operatives were present -- but officials say the firefight broke out when Mr. Qati tried to block the strike force from freeing the brother of a task force member who was being held in custody.

"Matiullah was in the wrong place at the wrong time," Mr. Karzai said in the interview.

Counternarcotics officials have repeatedly expressed frustration over the unwillingness of senior policy makers in Washington to take action against Mr. Karzai -- or even begin a serious investigation of the allegations against him. In fact, they say that while other Afghans accused of drug involvement are investigated and singled out for raids or even rendition to the United States, Mr. Karzai has seemed immune from similar scrutiny.

For years, first the Bush administration and then the Obama administration have said that the Taliban benefits from the drug trade, and the United States military has recently expanded its target list to include drug traffickers with ties to the insurgency. The military has generated a list of 50 top drug traffickers tied to the Taliban who can now be killed or captured.

Senior Afghan investigators say they know plenty about Mr. Karzai.s involvement in the drug business. In an interview in Kabul this year, a top former Afghan Interior Ministry official familiar with Afghan counternarcotics operations said that a major source of Mr. Karzai.s influence over the drug trade was his control over key bridges crossing the Helmand River on the route between the opium growing regions of Helmand Province and Kandahar.

The former Interior Ministry official said that Mr. Karzai was able to charge huge fees to drug traffickers to allow their drug-laden trucks to cross the bridges.

But the former officials said it was impossible for Afghan counternarcotics officials to investigate Mr. Karzai. "This government has become a factory for the production of Talibs because of corruption and injustice," the former official said.

Some American counternarcotics officials have said they believe that Mr. Karzai has expanded his influence over the drug trade, thanks in part to American efforts to single out other drug lords.

In debriefing notes from Drug Enforcement Administration interviews in 2006 of Afghan informants obtained by The New York Times, one key informant said that Ahmed Wali Karzai had benefited from the American operation that lured Hajji Bashir Noorzai, a major Afghan drug lord during the time that the Taliban ruled Afghanistan, to New York in 2005. Mr. Noorzai was convicted on drug and conspiracy charges in New York in 2008, and was sentenced to life in prison this year.

Habibullah Jan, a local military commander and later a member of Parliament from Kandahar, told the D.E.A. in 2006 that Mr. Karzai had teamed with Haji Juma Khan to take over a portion of the Noorzai drug business after Mr. Noorzai.s arrest.

Fallen hero? Pat Tillman died on the border of Afghanistan in April 2004

He was the pin-up boy of Bush's War on Terror. But the story of Pat Tillman's heroic death soon started to unravel. Today comes the most astonishing claim of all - that he was assassinated by his own side

Pat Tillman died a hero's death. At least, that's what America was told when this former football star and steel-jawed poster boy for the War on Terror, returned home in a box.

Here was a soldier who had paid the ultimate price for defending his fellow Army Rangers from an enemy ambush in the badlands of Afghanistan.

President Bush awarded him a posthumous Silver Star and made speeches in his honour.

Such was the mood of public mourning that his funeral service was broadcast on national television. In death, he was promoted to Corporal.

More than ever, the huge, slab-sided face below the crisply trimmed beret became the face of American patriotism.

But that was never the true story. One month after the fateful day in April 2004, when the 27-year-old died in a ravine on the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan where Osama Bin Laden hid with Al-Qaeda, it was officially acknowledged that Tillman had not been killed by the Taliban at all.

Instead, he had been cut down by his own side, a victim of "friendly fire".

This was a revelation that triggered outrage. Spearheaded by Tillman's devastated mother Mary and father Pat "senior", a swelling tide of protesters demanded to know whether the Pentagon and the White House had deliberately played Tillman's death for propaganda value to boost support for the war. Plainly there were lies and cover-ups. Who knew what and when?

Now comes a new and even darker possibility. A growing body of evidence suggests that Tillman died neither at the hands of his nation's enemy nor in the tragic, accidental confusion of "friendly fire"; rather he was shot with three bullets in tight formation in the forehead at very close range.

If so, this is evidence of murder. Only now are the original battlefield reports emerging and they clearly suggest that his death was not a mistake, just as his mother - who has inevitably been trying to make sense of the inconsistent reports surrounding the loss of her son - has long suggested.

But could Pat Tillman really have been assassinated? And if so, why?

The dark shadow of "black ops" has fallen over the Tillman story, and it reaches all the way to the White House. Conspiracy theories are multiplying.

Preposterous though it may seem, there is a growing view that Pat Tillman was targeted by American special forces because he was about to become an embarrassment.

New evidence shows that he was turning out to be a very troubled "hero", a poster boy for the Army and the War on Terror who may have been about to speak out against the war he had come to symbolise.

Letters home and memories of those who knew him in Iraq suggest that after his initial enthusiasm, he had decided that Iraq was not just a quagmire but an "illegal" war.

Tillman had been heard arguing bitterly against the Iraq war and urging his fellow soldiers to vote for Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry in 2004.

He had also been using his celebrity to contact the best-selling anti-war intellectual Noam Chomsky, and they were due to meet as soon as Tillman returned from Afghanistan.

Astonishingly, long-hidden details of his death support the murder theory: medical evidence never did match up with the scenario of friendly fire; those three bullets from an M16 combat rifle could not have been fired from farther than ten yards; there were special forces snipers in the group immediately behind Tillman's platoon.

"The nation has been deceived," says Mary Tillman. "It's now about justice for Pat and justice for the other soldiers."

President Bush awarded Tillman a posthumous Silver Star and made speeches in his honour

After three years of grief and anger - three years during which the national mood has changed from gung-ho support to rejection of the Bush wars and an atmosphere of dark suspicion over every White House motive - questions over the Tillman story are now convulsing America.

Just this week, the Army produced its seventh report into the affair to try to wipe away the stain of Pat Tillman's death.

There is no mention of assassination: the report adheres strictly to the friendly fire line.

But it apportions blame for the initial confusion over how Tillman died - enabling the White House and Pentagon to portray him as an all-American hero - on Lt. Gen. Philip Kensinger, who was in charge of the special forces in Afghanistan that included Tillman's Rangers.

According to the report, the General had failed to notify both the Tillman family and senior officials of inquiries into the possibility of friendly fire.

He then lied to two sets of investigators about the stage at which he knew that American bullets had killed him. This was a "failure of leadership".

The report insists there was no cover-up and that the death was a battlefield accident, followed by a misunderstanding.

Kensinger faces post-retirement demotion by one star and a cut in his pension from $9,500 a month to $8,500.

In Washington, Army Secretary Pete Geren unveiled the report, saying: "General Kensinger was the captain of that ship and his ship ran aground."

He added that he expected this report to be the last.

There is little chance of that. Mary Tillman, who has long suggested her son was deliberately killed by his comrades, said the report was a farce - "a complete donkey show".

And Senator Barbara Boxer, a Democrat, added: "We don't know the full story about the way the Pentagon and (the White House) managed this tragedy.

"In my view, the Army should reconsider today's announcement and move forward with harsher punishment."

Only a day after the Army report, the Congressional Committee on Oversight and Government Reform convened an inquiry titled The Tillman Fratricide: What The Leadership Of The Defence Department Knew.

Chaired by another Californian Democrat with an eye on next year's elections, Henry Waxman, it is calling a slew of top brass and key Pentagon officials to the witness stand.

These include former Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, who was sacked by Bush when the Iraq war turned sour for the voters.

"How high up did this go?" asks Waxman. In other words, did Bush ignore the truth on Tillman to use him for votes?

Or did Pentagon officials, White House staff or election strategists keep the truth from him?

The answer to that might be momentous. But this has all been pushed aside by the revelations prised from records by national news agency the Associated Press (AP).

Using the Freedom of Information Act - American law since the Watergate scandal - they went to court in San Francisco and sued for the right to look at the Pentagon records on the Tillman affair.

They were rewarded with 2,300 pages of documents, and what they contained raised extraordinary inconsistencies when put alongside the official versions of events.

The first mystery surrounds the nature of the wounds he sustained.

"The medical evidence did not match-up with the scenario as described," a doctor who examined Tillman's body told the first group of Army investigators.

Several doctors, their names blacked out in the reports, said that the bullets were so close together that Tillman must have been shot by an M16 combat rifle - a highpowered repeat machine gun - fired from no more than ten yards.

But soldiers have said their experience with an M16 on a three-shot burst suggests the killer was even closer.

To put three rounds into a man's forehead, they would need to be no more than ten feet away.

The Army doctors told the investigators that these wounds suggested murder and urged them to launch a criminal investigation.

The documents record that another doctor who conducted the Tillman autopsy was similarly so suspicious that he told investigators he had taken the unusual step of contacting the Human Resources Command which deals with personnel matters. He was rebuffed.

He then contacted an officer in the Army's Criminal Investigation Division (CID) to suggest he open a criminal case.

"He said he talked to his higher headquarters and they had said 'no'," the doctor testified.

The newly uncovered papers then reveal, however, that as the controversy grew, the Pentagon did go back to check on the possibility of a fratricidal murder.

There is a record of investigators talking to then-Cpt. Richard Scott, who was in charge of the first, local army review.

"Have you, at any time since this incident on April 22, 2004, ever received any information or even rumour that Cpl Tillman was killed by anyone within his own unit intentionally?" they asked.

Scott replied he was sure the killing was accidental, though he must have been aware of the rumours that Tillman had been murdered.

Was Tillman disliked? Was anyone jealous of his celebrity? Was he - considered arrogant? His brothersinarms all insisted that Tillman was admired, respected and liked.

But there are more bombshells from the pages released to AP.

First, there was no evidence of any incoming fire from the enemy, and no sign of damage to any man or equipment from enemy fire.

Yet, the official story has always been that the tragedy started with the breakdown of a personnel carrier as Tillman's unit went into the ravine on an early evening seek-anddestroy patrol.

Tillman and his squad were ordered to continue on foot and were then ambushed; and the squad from a second vehicle following behind mistook them for the enemy ambushers.

If there is no evidence of an enemy ambush, how did the shooting start?

Is it coincidence that after more than three years it has been discovered that there were never-before-mentioned US snipers in the second group?

Could there have been a secret sniper on a mission to Afghanistan to assassinate the Army's poster boy?

Or perhaps three assassins, because as a general rule snipers fire in single shots, from specially tuned rifles, rather than in bursts of three?

Could the suggestion that Tillman was going to become a voice for the anti-war movement be why his mother says that a journal he'd kept since was 16 has gone missing?

It disappeared, along with most of his possessions, two days after he died.

"It's time to really ask who ordered the assassination of Pat Tillman," wrote blogger Josh Swiller on The Huffington Post, a mainstream website, sparking off a series of conspiracy theories.

If that is going too far, it is at least time for the Army, the Pentagon and the White House to come clean on the Tillman tragedy.

In these troubled times, the last thing America and its allies need is such suspicion, rumour and intrigue.

Pro War Rahm Emanuel

In June 2010, The Daily Telegraph reported that Emanuel was likely to resign his position in the months ahead following the upcoming midterm elections in November. The British newspaper reported that this was due to Emanuel's growing frustration at the idealist policies of Obama, conflicting with the more confrontational approach of Emanuel, and his desire to avoid burnout and disconnection with his family because of the pressures of being Chief of Staff. The newspaper also suggested that Emanuel may be considering running for the office of Mayor of Chicago in the upcoming 2011 mayoral election.[68][69] Emanuel has strongly denied that he intends to resign, however, declaring in an email to CBS News: "I would say this is bs or as the english like to say baseless."

In June 21st, 2010, while the Obama administration was still railing from a series of failed attempts to turn Israeli-Palestinian peace talks on track by stopping Israeli settlements in West Bank, Rahm Emanuel broke with the general US line and praised Benjamin Netanyahu's efforts for peace

Israel spells out plan to ease Gaza blockade

By Tobias Buck in Jerusalem

Published: June 20 2010 18:23 | Last updated: June 20 2010 18:23

Israel moved to calm recent tensions with the international community over its Gaza policy on Sunday by spelling out how it plans to ease the long-running blockade of the territory.

The move comes ahead of a meeting, also revealed on Sunday, between Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, and Barack Obama, the US president, in Washington early next month.

The two leaders were supposed to meet this month, but Mr Netanyahu was forced to cut short an official trip to North America to deal with the fall-out from Israel.s botched attack on a convoy of ships carrying aid to the Gaza Strip.

The assault, in which Israeli naval commandos killed nine pro-Palestinian activists from Turkey, sparked an international outcry, and increased the already mounting pressure on the Israeli government to change its Gaza policy.

In a sign that the latest Israeli concessions may succeed in stifling the recent surge in criticism from abroad, both the US and Tony Blair, the international community.s Middle East envoy, praised the government.s move. The White House said on Sunday it welcomed the Israeli measures, saying they promised .significant improvements. for Palestinian living in Gaza.

Suggesting that the US administration is keen to move on from the recent tensions between the two allies, Rahm Emanuel, Mr Obama.s chief-of-staff, found unusually warm words of praise for the Israeli leader. Mr Emanuel told ABC.s This Week that Mr Netanyahu was .the kind of leader willing to take a big risk for peace., adding that all sides should seize .this moment of opportunity. to reach a peace deal.

Mr Blair, who has met the Israeli leader repeatedly over the past week, said he welcomed .strongly. the Israeli statement, adding that .the practical effect of this should change radically the flow of goods and materials into Gaza..

The key change announced by the government is the switch from an .allowed. list, which forbids the import of all goods into Gaza that are not mentioned specifically, to a .banned. list, which will block some materials but should in theory allow a much greater range of goods in.

The government made clear that in future all goods except .weapons, war materiel and problematic dual-use goods. could enter Gaza.

Israel also reiterated an earlier decision to .expand. the inflow of .dual-use construction materials. for building projects authorised by the western-backed Palestinian Authority, which is dominated by the secular Fatah party and governs in the West Bank. The Gaza Strip, however, is ruled by the Islamist Hamas group, which could view an expanded PA role in the coastal territory as encroachment by its long-standing rival.

Years of severe restrictions on the flow of goods and people into and out of Gaza have had a crippling effect on the strip.s economy and made eight in ten residents dependent on international aid.

Allowing more goods into Gaza is likely to improve the humanitarian situation, but analysts say that the private sector, and the economy at large, can only return to growth if Israel also allows exports from the strip . a step that was not mentioned in Sunday.s package.

In February 2010, Emanuel apologized for using the word "retarded" to describe liberals at a closed-door meeting in 2009. He expressed his regret to Tim Shriver, the chief executive of the Special Olympics after the remark was reported in an article by The Wall Street Journal about growing liberal angst at the chief of staff. The apology came as Sarah Palin called on President Obama to fire Emanuel via the former governor's Facebook page

He and his brothers attended summer camp in Israel, including just after the 1967 Six Day War

In the first Gulf War, Emanuel served with the Israel Defense Forces as a civilian volunteer helping to maintain equipment

Edward Moskal, president of the Polish American Congress, a political action committee endorsing Kaszak, called Emanuel a "millionaire carpetbagger who knows nothing" about "our heritage". Moskal also charged that Emanuel had dual citizenship with Israel and had served in the Israeli Army

Emmanuel spoke out strongly in support of the war, urging a United States' "muscular projection of force" in Iraq

SHOEBOMBER? UNDERPANTS BOMB? CIA? MOSSAD?

WTF????

The Underwear Bomber Conspiracy Goes Delusional As It Becomes Another Official Coverup And Pretext For More Neo-Con War
By: Frank33 Friday June 4, 2010 10:02 am

The Christmas Day Bombing of 2009 has now become an official coverup. The SSCI Report about the Christmas Day Bombing is the equivalent of a Seinfeld TV episode. This Report is about nothing and it has no content.

There is nothing in the report about the attempted terrorist attack on Flight 253, or the aftermath. The accounts by passengers and press reports have claimed that the terrorist Abdulmutallab was allowed through security by US Intelligence Officials without a passport, and without being searched. Abdulmutallab was assisted by a possible Al Qaeda double agent who remains at large. Another suspect was taken away after Flight 253 landed. Even though US Intelligence officials were responsible for the "failed" attack, there has been no accountability for their incompetence.

The identity of a possible Al Qaeda double agent who assisted the Bomber is being protected and concealed by Intelligence officials. The CIA has been involved with double agents and terrorists Ali Mohamed and David Headley. At least two attacks blamed on Al Qaeda by the CIA are actually False Flag Ops, the Madrid Train Bombings and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Attacks involving Al Qaeda double agents are used as propaganda for more war.

This story does seem delusional with the SSCI Report contradicting the well publicized stories of the witnesses. This is similar to the WMD Irak War delusions and the Torture for False Confessions delusions. Four journalists, Michelle Shephard of the Toronto Star, Paul Koring of The Globe and Mail, Steven Edwards of Canwest News Service and Carol Rosenberg of The Miami Herald had the delusion that Sgt. Joshua Claus was ordered to torture, to support the neo-con Oil Wars. The four journalists were banished from a US "Military Commission" in Cuba for telling about the torturer and the torture.

This is the military way of discipline to control delusions. Punish a few as a lesson to the rest of the corporate stenographers. These corporate cowards could be called the "Press Pen", inspired by the "Veal Pen", which describes the phony Dee Cee activists who are not active.

The military and the neo-con secret police must control all information in order to maintain the perpetual oil wars and impose disaster capitalism. The usual tactic to keep the many other delusions secret is to use the corporate sheep who pretend to be journalists. There are so many secrets to keep, such as the False Confessions from torture, Niger Forgeries, Al Qaeda double agents such as Ali Mohamed, the CIA.s favorite banks, BCCI and Riggs, the Carlyle Group and the Bin Laden business partnership, Nuclear Weapon Technology from Halliburton and Nuclear Weapons plans from the CIA supplied to Iran, and many more. Any disagreement with the official coverup is delusional. Those who disagree are ridiculed. The Dee Cee "Public Relations Firms" and the government "Public Diplomacy" and the "Think Tanks" are secretly paid with taxpayer money to repeat the coverup narratives. The Underwear Bomber Conspiracy has now been added to the list of forbidden topics.

"The Unclassified Executive Summary of the Committee Report on the Attempted Terrorist Attack on Northwest Airlines Flight 253" was released by the SENATE SELECT COMMITTEE ON INTELLIGENCE.

There is a PDF file of the report, but no easily accessible HTML version. TPM did have a version, with some cutting and pasting, an HTML file was put together.

This report has almost zero information about the actual sabotage attempted against Flight 253. It contains numerous falsehoods that contradict government statements and witness testimony. The rest is disinformation from from a corrupt national security establishment. Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was known to be a terrorist and was escorted aboard Flight 253 by a US intelligence official or an Al Qaeda double agent. He had no passport or he may have had a false passport. Abdulmutallab was allowed aboard Flight 253 as part of surveillance operation to follow him to other Al Qaeda agents. At least that was one previous government story told on Jan. 27.

None of this is in the Report. There is nothing about Abdulmutallab, and his movements. Nothing about airport security. Nothing about his passport. Nothing about his Handler who told the ticket agent, "He has no passport. He is from the Sudan and we do this all the time." Nothing about why this terrorist was seated above the fuel tank. Nothing about the bomb or Saudi bombmaker. Nothing about the video recording of the terrorist attack. Nothing about the six hour lockdown of passengers, where another suspect was taken away in handcuffs. Nothing about FBI intimidation of passengers. Nothing about the repeated government statements proven to be false. There is not even anything about the passengers and flight crew who quickly subdued the Underwear Bomber.

The Committee found there were systemic failures across the Intelligence Community (IC), which contributed to the failure to identify the threat posed by Ablulmutallab.

There are systemic failures in the system, of that secret right wing cabal called the Intelligence Community. This is after years of continuous fear mongering of 9-11 and billions of dollars to fight 1000 or less terrorists of AQ. Part of the failure is total concealment by top secret classification of any true information about Al Qaeda. The term "Al Qaeda" does not refer to an well organized structure. Rather Al Qaeda is an informal criminal conspiracy supported by the Saudi secret service. The Bin Laden family and Usama in particular provided the funding. The government probably does not know how many Al Qaeda agents there are because the CIA depends on Saudi Arabia for information about AQ. That may explain the successes of AQ. We are told repeatedly there exist Al Qaeda "affiliates" all over the world and how scary they are. But the "IC" does not tell us about the biggest Al Qaeda affiliate, Saudi Arabia.

The SSCI report identifies fourteen specific points of failure.a series of human errors, technical problems, systemic obstacles, analytical misjudgments, and competing priorities.which resulted in Abdulmutallab being able to travel to the United States on December 25, 2009. Those points of failure are:

1. The State Department Did Not Revoke Abdulmutallab.s U.S. Visa.
2. Abdulmutallab Was Not Placed in the "Terrorist Screening Database" (TSDB), on
the Selectee List, or on the No Fly List.
3. Reporting Was Not Distributed to All Appropriate CIA Elements.
4. A CIA Regional Division, at CIA Headquarters, Did Not Search Databases
Containing Reports Related to Abdulmutallab.
5. CIA Did Not Disseminate Key Reporting Until after the 12/25 Attempted Attack.
6. A CIA Counterterrorism Center (CTC) Office.s Limited Name Search Failed to
Uncover the Key Reports on Abdulmutallab.
7. CIA CTC Analysts Failed to Connect the Reporting on Abdulmutallab.
8. FBI Counterterrorism Analysts Could Not Access All Relevant Reports.
9. NCTC.s Directorate of Intelligence Failed to Connect the Reporting on Abdulmutallab.
10. NCTC.s Watchlisting Office Did Not Conduct Additional Research to Find
Additional Derogatory Information to Place Abdulmutallab on a Watchlist.
11. NSA Did Not Pursue Potential Collection Opportunities That Could Have Provided
Information on Abdulmutallab.
12. Analysts Did Not Connect Key Reports Partly Identifying Abdulmutallab and
Failed to Ensure Dissemination of All Relevant Reporting.
13. NSA Did Not Nominate Abdulmutallab for Watchlisting or the Terrorist Identities
Datamart Environment (TIDE) Based on Information Partly Identifying Him.
14. Intelligence Analysts Were Primarily Focused on Al-Qaeda in the Arabian
Peninsula (AQAP) Threats to U.S. Interests in Yemen, Rather than on Potential
AQAP Threats to the U.S. Homeland.

These fourteen points leave something out-the actual events on Christmas Day. The first point seems to blame the State Department because it did not revoke the visa. But the State Department has publicly explained this. Abdulmullatab was put on Flight 253 by intelligence officials. This was reported on Jan. 27 by Nathan Hurst of the Detroit News.

The State Department didn.t revoke the visa of foiled terrorism suspect Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab because federal counterterrorism officials had begged off revocation, a top State Department official revealed Wednesday.

Patrick F. Kennedy, an undersecretary for management at the State Department, said Abdulmutallab.s visa wasn.t taken away because intelligence officials asked his agency not to deny a visa to the suspected terrorist over concerns that a denial would.ve foiled a larger investigation into al-Qaida threats against the United States.

.Revocation action would.ve disclosed what they were doing,. Kennedy said in testimony before the House Committee on Homeland Security. Allowing Adbulmutallab to keep the visa increased chances federal investigators would be able to get closer to apprehending the terror network he is accused of working with, .rather than simply knocking out one soldier in that effort..

So Point of Failure #1 is a big fat lie. The other thirteen points of failure are also big fat lies to cover up the first big fat lie. They imply that allowing Abdumullatab aboard was some sort of accidental bureaucratic mistake. But it is worrisome that a terrorist was allowed aboard by claiming to be from the Sudan. And this is done all the time? Are other terrorists similarly given covert cover by our intelligence officials? Kurt Haskell has stuck to his original story about Flight 253. Haskell was interviewed the day after Christmas.

Haskell said he and his wife were sitting on the ground near their boarding gate in Amsterdam, which is when they saw Mutallab approach the gate with an unidentified man.

Kurt and Lori Haskell are attorneys with Haskell Law Firm in Taylor. Their expertise includes bankruptcy, family law and estate planning.

While Mutallab was poorly dressed, his friend was dressed in an expensive suit, Haskell said. He says the suited man asked ticket agents whether Mutallab could board without a passport. .The guy said, .He.s from Sudan and we do this all the time...

Mutallab is Nigerian. Haskell believes the man may have been trying to garner sympathy for Mutallab.s lack of documents by portraying him as a Sudanese refugee.

The ticket agent referred Mutallab and his companion to her manager down the hall, and Haskell didn.t see Mutallab again until after he allegedly tried to detonate an explosive on the plane.

Also on Dec. 26, Newsweek reported that a Dutch counter-terrorism official government described special security procedures for Abdumullatab. But the issues of the passport and physical search remain uncertain.

Judith Sluyter, spokeswoman for the NCTB, the office of Holland.s national counter-terrorism coordinator, said that before Flight 253 left Amsterdam.s Schiphol Airport, the passenger list was transmitted in full to U.S. authorities for review.

Sluyter said that not only did the airline have the Flight 253 passenger list reviewed and cleared by U.S. authorities, but also Mudallad went through some kind of security screening at Schiphol Airport after his arrival on a connecting flight from Lagos, Nigeria, and before he boarded Flight 253 for the U.S. She said she could not provide full details of the kind of screening that Mudallad passed at Schiphol, but said she believed it involved at least some basic physical search. She said she could not confirm at this point how thorough the physical search might have been.

The Government responded by denials of the Handler who did the talking for Abdulmutallab. Abdulmultallab did not talk and was described as "dazed"and "unemotional". Even when badly burnt by the device he remained silent, suggesting perhaps he had been drugged. ABC News reported there was a Handler who might be AQ.

Federal agents also tell ABCNews.com they are attempting to identify a man who passengers said helped Abdulmutallab change planes for Detroit when he landed in Amsterdam from Lagos, Nigeria.

Authorities had initially discounted the passenger accounts, but the agents say there is a growing belief the man have played a role to make sure Abdulmutallab "did not get cold feet."

If intelligence officials let terrorists travel as refugees from Sudan "all the time", this is assisting terrorism. If "rogue" intelligence officials decided to blow up an airliner it would be easy to smuggle an effective explosive device. The real lessons of the Christmas Day Bombing is

1) Do not let suspected terrorists board airliners and endanger innocent people.
2) Do not let unaccountable spies endanger innocent people with their False Flag Ops.

The official Report says the Dots Did Not Get Connected. The Beltway Press Pen all agree. Those Dots Did Not Get Connected! Spencer Ackerman endorsed the Report, but failed to notice there is nothing in the Report about Flight 253, other than the dots. Except, there are too many dots. He cites the Cato Institute for an analysis of the SSCI Report and ignores the coverup and the facts being covered up.
The Cato Institute story by Julian Sanchez likewise catapulted the neo-con false story about the Christmas Day Bombing. Nothing to see here but too many dots, move along! Sanchez also failed to notice what Ackerman had said that contradicts Big Fat Lie #1, about the Visa. The "Intelligence Community" did not want the State Department to revoke the Visa as reported at FDL.

The Detroit News didn.t .discover. anything . no disrespect to them . they faithfully reported Pat Kennedy.s January testimony about how the intelligence community didn.t want Abdulmutallab.s visa revoked because it would jeopardize their investigation of Abdulmutallab.

The Detroit News story by Nathan Hurst, deserves credit and was one of the few places where this story was featured. Ackerman has had some commendable posts. But Ackerman ignores that the main duty of the Intelligence Community is to suppress the "left", as the Intelligence Community promotes global domination by multinational corporations. In Ackerman.s world, there are no False Flag Ops, no PNAC, no Total Information Awareness, and no Disaster Capitalism.

False Flag Ops , such as the Gulf of Tonkin Incident, TPAJAX, and Operation Gladio, suggest we critically examine the truth about terrorism. The Gladio bombings and murders were used to blame European terrorism on "leftists". The Niger Forgeries was a False Flag Op to provide a pretext for War against Irak. The Taliban support of AQ was a pretext for the Afghanistan War. Al Qaeda and the Taliban are controlled and financed by Saudi Arabia. False Flag Ops and Terrorism require lots of financing. AQ is most of all, a criminal gang that murders for money.

The 9-11 Report said about AQ finances, "Al Qaeda had many avenues of funding." But the 9-11 Report keeps these sources of money secret. The sophisticated financial network of AQ is concealed and protected by neo-cons who created them originally to fight the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. Al Qaeda does investment banking with the Saudi Royal Family through the Al Shamal Bank in the Sudan.

Al Shamal Bank in the Sudan was founded by Bin Laden. By 1992 the US government and prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald knew that it was Bin Laden.s bank. Bin Laden was involved in currency and stock market trading, and had an import export business among others. Al Shamal is still in business.

Through the years, the finances of AQ have become as sophisticated as their violence is crude. They copy our own banksters big time stock fraud such as the suspicious airline "puts" prior to 9-11. They also go small time using mortgage fraud. All the financial transactions are concealed by the Intelligence Community, so AQ can maintain their financial networks.

But it was discovered that some of the UAL Puts before 9-11, were wagered by the investment bank AB Brown. This company was run by Buzzy Krongard, who became number three top spy at the CIA. Krongard helped obtain the Assassinations Contract for Blackwater.

The Riggs Bank in Washington DC was a CIA front. Dictators supported by the CIA used Riggs to stash their plundered loot. Saudi Arabia financed 9-11 through Riggs. Prior to that the CIA used the BCCI Bank to finance the Iran-Contra-Cocaine weapons and drug deals. Bin Laden also used BCCI.

Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., who conducted an investigation into the fraud-ridden Bank of Credit and Commerce International, said bin Laden held a number of accounts with BCCI.

Levin said bin Laden allegedly provided the AlShamal Islamic Bank (www.shamalbank.com) with $50 million in start-up capital.

Levin said he believes that at least until last year, bin Laden had been the leading shareholder of the bank. Levin also pointed out that in testimony given earlier this year at the embassy bombing trials, one witness testified that bin Laden.s network had half a dozen accounts at the AlShamal Bank to fund their activities. One account was in bin Laden.s own name.

The AlShamal bank.s Web site says it has correspondent relationships with major banks in financial capitals, Levin said. They include Credit Lyonnaise (based in Geneva), Commerz Bank in Germany, ING Bank in Indonesia, and Standard Bank in South Africa.

Immediately after the attack against Flight 253 the usual warmongers made the usual political posturing. Specifically, President Obama was soft on terror. Dots were not connected. X-ray scanners that can cause cancer are now needed to protect us from terrorists. Anwar Al-Awlaki, AQ leader and US citizen was declared eligible for assassination. More war in Yemen. Military Commissions were necessary because torture should be used for terrorists.

DNI Spy Chief Dennis Blair wanted the spies to take over law enforcement and he publicly criticized the FBI for their legal interrogation. But Abdumuttallab was talking, without torture, and perhaps talking too much. An early story said there was a Saudi Arabian who made the bomb. Blair resigned and the SSCI Report of course did not say if it was Blair who approved the plot for Abdulmutallab to travel to Detroit as a Sudanese refugee.

Even the right wing critics realized that the Flight 253 passengers were talking and the government statements kept changing. This story needed to be put to rest. Thus we have a report about the Christmas Day Bombing that has nothing at all about the Christmas Day Bombing. This attack is being covered up at the same time it is used as an excuse for more War in Yemen, and Torture in Military Commissions and even Assassinations of US citizens.

Coverups, Torture and Assassinations are a feature, not a bug of the Intelligence Community. During that horror movie called the War in Vietnam, Operation Phoenix was an assassination program that murdered tens of thousands of the "enemy". But sometimes those enemies were Americans, such as Bobby Garwood.

In this world, torture, assassination, even the killing of fellow Americans were given official, if unwritten, sanction. We are told that United States .hunter-killer. teams, working from a list of suspected American deserters and defectors, had standing orders to kill them on sight. And, according to at least one former marine, that in 1973, after the signing of the peace accords, the C.I.A. assembled five-man sniper teams and paid them $12,000 to $25,000 a head for assassinating alleged renegade Americans.

There was also the War At Home. COINTELPRO by the FBI and the illegal Operation CHAOS by the CIA were espionage operations against anti-war Americans. Some of these were ops were getting people fired from jobs. Or provocateurs would promote violence or bombings. Or local police would be told to use an arrest for drugs, that is marijuana to harass and disrupt the anti-war freaks. The information gathered on dissidents was quite detailed.

As campus anti-war protest activity spread across the nation, the CIA reacted by implementing two new domestic operations. The first, Project RESISTANCE, was designed to provide security to CIA recruiters on college campuses. Under this program, the CIA sought active cooperation from college administrators, campus security, and local police to help identify anti-war activists, political dissidents, and "radicals." Eventually information was provided to all government recruiters on college campuses (6) and directly to the super-secret DOD on thousands of students and dozens of groups. The CIA.s Office of Security also created Project MERRIMAC, to provide warnings about demonstrations being carried out against CIA facilities or personnel in the Washington area. (7)

Under both Projects, the CIA infiltrated agents into domestic groups of all types and activities. It used its contacts with local police departments and their intelligence units to pick up its "police skills" and began in earnest to pull off burglaries, illegal entries, use of explosives, criminal frame-ups, shared interrogations, and disinformation. CIA teams purchased sophisticated equipment for many starved police departments and in return got to see arrest records, suspect lists, and intelligence reports. Many large police departments, in conjunction with the CIA, carried out illegal, warrantless searches of private properties, to provide intelligence for a report requested by President Johnson and later entitled "Restless Youth." (8)

Would the USA use similar tactics today against anti-war citizens? Probably not, except for indefinite detentions, enhanced interrogations and targeted assassinations. In the current Global War On Terror everywhere is a battlefield (except for Saudi Arabia). That includes the new digital communications. That battlefield requires cognitive censorship to conceal the web of wars, gunrunning, international bankers, drugs, secret armies, and oil pipelines supporting neo-con/globalist imperialism.

Ackerman is similar to the the government in not being able to handle criticism. I do not mind the invective Ackerman directs at me. But I do object to his Posts which have contained false information. I also object to his consistent support, for the neo-con wars and concealment of neo-con crimes. As I previously discussed, he used the Christmas Day Bombing Plot to portray AQ terrorists as mentally ill, and "Conspiracy theorists" are also mentally ill. If this reporting sounds as if it is government propaganda, it probably is. Ackerman has a source who is an insider, CIA "analyst" Philip Mudd, AQ expert.

I hesitate to disagree with Phil Mudd, who has forgotten more about al-Qaeda than I.ll ever know

Mudd was part of "enhanced interrogation", that is torture to get false confessions to justify the Oil Wars. Mudd has "retired" assuming spies retire. He is a "senior fellow" at the New America Foundation. The New America Foundation "invests in new thinkers and new ideas to address the next generation of challenges facing the United States".

You can certainly expect new ideas from their Board of Directors. Christine Todd Whitman lied to New Yorkers about the safety of breathing the air after 9-11. Walter Russell Mead, is a Henry Kissinger Senior Fellow. Francis Fukuyama signed the PNAC manifesto for supporting global domination by neo-cons.

The NAF does have a few "liberals" but it is doubtful they do anything to offend the NAF globalist donors. The NAF donors includes billionaires, The Rockefeller Foundation, Peter G. Peterson Foundation, Levi Strauss Foundation, and The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This is a perfect place for a "retired" CIA expert to catapult the neo-con propaganda, without any annoying conspiracy theorizing bloggers.

Mudd may be an expert about AQ, but he ignores the finances of AQ and how they profit from terror. Mudd gives the government approved coverup in a Newsweek article.

The question Al Qaeda faced before 9/11 was how to increase that pressure. How could a relatively small, stateless organization really take on an adversary as powerful as the United States?

Because AQ is not stateless. It is Saudi Arabian sponsored terrorism, and Saudi Arabia provides protection and safe haven. The Saudi Wahhabi are as extreme as AQ and by 1997, the CIA considered Saudi Secret Service, a

Still, there.s cause for optimism. The leaders of this revolution have increasingly faced tough questions about the murders they commit, even from people who share their anger and frustration. (None other than Ayman al-Zawahiri, Al Qaeda.s No. 2, felt compelled to defend himself in an Internet interview in 2008, when he got a question from Algeria about how Al Qaeda justifies killing so many innocents.) Our goal should be to magnify this growing disillusionment.

I agree we should magnify the disillusionment with killing innocents. The last nine years of Afghanistan and seven years of Irak War For Oil has had hundreds of thousands killed. Possibly some of the victims of PNAC.s staged wars were innocent. These wars and their associated torture violate international law. It is possible killing hundreds of thousands whether guilty or innocent, causes hatred against America. The upside is war profiteers have continued to make more enemies of America for more wars. The unmanned killer drones are also the coward.s way of killing and it is terrorism that violates international law.

In a recent New America Foundation article Mudd uses the Mumbai attacks, the Spanish Train Bombing and the Christmas Day bombing among others, to justify the War On Terror. The "failure" of Abdulmutallab is claimed to be evidence of success by the Intelligence Community.

Patience, though, and steady resolve also pay dividends for us. An attacker failed on Christmas Day on a plane bound for Detroit.

The cowardly crimes that Mudd lists are horrible. But these attacks cannot be compared to the violence and mass murder of the Irak and Afghanistan wars. Mudd uses the excuse of terrorism to promote more war. Perhaps when Mudd was officially at the CIA, he was involved in the CIA.s secret support of Al Qaeda.

They have seen their attacks on Manhattan and Morocco, Bombay and Bali, Saudi Arabia and Spain, all conducted in the span of a decade, many not by al Qaeda members but by individuals inspired only by the group.s message.

They may have been "inspired". But the Spanish Train Bombings were False Flag attacks, not AQ. Informers for the Spanish Civil Guard Bomb Squad stole the explosives and provided them to the AQ inspired killers who did make the bombs. The FBI confused the investigation by falsely blaming a Oregon lawyer of being part of the conspiracy.

The 2008 (26/11) Mumbai (Bombay) attacks killed 173, including 6 Americans, and wounded over 300 people. These attacks had little or nothing to do with AQ. This was another False Flag attack. The Indian Secret Service provided SIM cards for cell phones to the Pakistan terror group, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) which was likely supported by Pakistan.s ISI. Perhaps for spies such as Mudd, it is considered professional courtesy not to reveal the False Flag Ops of other espionage services. Mudd tells us we should be grateful to the spies.

Intelligence, law enforcement and foreign security allies have crippled al Qaeda affiliates in Europe, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

This is a good example of disinformation by Mudd. But the irony, Mudd mentions "a Pakistani-American from Chicago who was affiliated with the Mumbai murderers". That is, another murdering AQ affiliate terrorist can be anywhere, even Chicago. Mudd is talking about Daood Gilani, who also used the name David Headley. Headley is double agent, affiliated with DEA and CIA. Mudd neglects to mention that. But affiliated is not exactly correct. Headley helped plan the murders, and it was reported he was one of the leaders of the attacks.

Headley was born in Washington DC, to a Pakistani diplomat father and American mother. He was raised in both the US and Pakistan. Headley was convicted of Heroin Smuggling but was released from prison early to work as a secret DEA informer. Indian officials think he may have gone "rogue".

.The feeling in India is that the US has not been transparent,. said B. Raman, a former counter-terrorism chief in the Indian foreign intelligence service, the Research and Analysis Wing.

.That Headley was an agent for the DEA is known. Whether he was being used by the CIA as well is a matter of speculation, but it is almost certain that the CIA was aware of him and his movements across the subcontinent..

It is not known when Headley stopped working for the DEA and started working for LeT. But he first infiltrated the terrorist group LeT in 2002. He made at least five trips to Mumbai to survey targets. He was also under surveillance himself by the FBI, before the attacks. This included tape recordings of some of his conversations. People he met in Mumbai, called him "Agent Headley".

The plot thickens as the Indian Consulate in Chicago cannot find the visa papers of Headley, allowing travel to India. It was considered unusual that a Pakistani convicted of heroin drug charges, could easily travel back and forth to India. A recent news report said Headley was with LeT commanders who were directly controlling the operation on 26/11. The United States has refused India.s request to extradite Headley.

Who handles AQ double agents best? That would be AQ expert Patrick Fitzgerald, the same prosecutor who covered up the Niger Forgeries. Fitz is personally handling the Headley Case. Fitz also handled AQ double agent Ali Mohamed. Fitz handled Ali by letting him loose time and time again to assist Bin Laden and AQ. Is Ali working on another terrorist attack? Only Fitz knows.

There are so many AQ double agents, we will need a scorecard to count them. Ali Mohamed helped murder hundreds at the African Embassy Bombings and Ali is getting a US government pension. We should also ask how much the DEA paid Headley to plan the Mumbai terror attacks. Underwear Bomber.s handler got a bomb through security and then the handler vanished. The handler may be a double agent, because his existence has been denied by the Intelligence Community.

Headley and Ali pled guilty to at least some of their crimes, so there was no embarrassing court trial. I do not expect an open trial for Abdulmutallab, other than a guilty plea. It would be too revealing of secrets that the Intelligence Community want suppressed.

DANCING ISRAELIS (mossad 9-11!)

The Dancing Israelis on 9/11
After reviewing the evidence, there can only be one logical reason as to why a group (perhaps multiple groups) of young Israeli men, in which some where found out to be Mossad agents, were filming the Twin Towers on 9/11 before the attack and then were celebrating and taking pictures of themselves with the burning WTC in the background; they were in on it.

One of the Israelis says about filming the burning WTC:

"Our purpose was to document the event."

Five men detained as suspected conspirators

Wednesday, September 12, 2001
By PAULO LIMA
Staff Writer

"About eight hours after terrorists struck Manhattan's tallest skyscrapers, police in Bergen County detained five men who they said were found carrying maps linking them to the blasts.
The five men, who were in a van stopped on Route 3 in East Rutherford around 4:30 p.m., were being questioned by police but had not been charged with any crime late Tuesday. The Bergen County Police bomb squad X-rayed packagesbut did not find any explosives, authorities said.
However, sources close to the investigation said they found other evidence linking the men to the bombing plot.
"There are maps of the city in the car with certain places highlighted," the source said. "It looked like they're hooked in with this. It looked like they knew what was going to happen when they were at Liberty State Park."
Sources also said that bomb-sniffing dogs reacted as if they had detected explosives, although officers were unable to find anything. The FBI seized the van for further testing, authorities said.
Sources said the van was stopped as it headed east on Route 3, between the Hackensack River bridge and the Sheraton hotel. As a precaution, police shut down Route 3 traffic in both directions after the stop and evacuated a small roadside motel near the Sheraton.
Sources close to the investigation said the men said they were Israeli tourists, but police had not been able to confirm their identities. Authorities would not release their names.
East Rutherford officers stopped the van after the FBI's Newark Field Office broadcast an alert asking surrounding police departments to look for a white Chevrolet van, police said.
"We got an alert to be on the lookout for a white Chevrolet van with New Jersey registration and writing on the side," said Bergen County Police Chief John Schmidig. "Three individuals were seen celebrating in Liberty State Park after the impact. They said three people were jumping up and down."
The East Rutherford officers summoned the county police bomb squad, New Jersey state troopers, and FBI agents, who waited alongside the van as prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney's Office tried to obtain a warrant to search the van late Tuesday, Schmidig said.
By 10 p.m., members of the bomb squad were picking through the van and X-raying packages found inside, Schmidig said.
Sources said the FBI alert, known as a BOLO or "Be On Lookout," was sent out at 3:31 p.m.
It read:
"Vehicle possibly related to New York terrorist attack. White, 2000 Chevrolet vanwith 'Urban Moving Systems' sign on back seen at Liberty State Park, Jersey City, NJ, at the time of first impact of jetliner into World Trade Center.
"Three individuals with van were seen celebrating after initial impact and subsequent explosion. FBI Newark Field Office requests that, if the van is located, hold for prints and detain individuals."
FBI spokeswoman Sandra Carroll declined to comment on the incident late Tuesday.
State police Lt. Col. Barry W. Roberson confirmed the traffic stop at a late night news briefing at state police headquarters in Trenton. He would not elaborate, however.
Business records show an Urban Moving Systems with offices on West 50th Street in Manhattan and on West 18th Street in Weehawken. Telephone messages left at the businesses Tuesday evening were not immediately returned.
Business records show the owner as Dominik Suter of Fair Lawn. A woman answering the telephone at Suter's home acknowledged he owned the company
It was not clear Tuesday whether the van stopped by police is related to Suter's company.
A business traveler staying at the Homestead Studio Suites Hotel said she watched state troopers drive the suspects away in a procession of state police cars about 5 p.m.
The woman, who asked not to be identified, said the people detained appeared to be white men, but she could not give more details. About 5:30 p.m., police evacuated the hotel without offering guests an explanation.
"First, they told us we could hang out in the lobby, but then they told us we had to leave," the traveler said.
At 10 p.m., the hotel guest said she could see at least two police officers searching through the van while a crowd of other officers kept their distance. Except for police vehicles and a tow truck, the service road beside Route 3 was empty, she said.

Suspects `filmed New York atrocities'

2:51:49 PM

"There are reports five men suspected of being involved in the attack on the World Trade Centre set up cameras to record the atrocity.
The men set up cameras by the Hudson River and trained them on the twin towers.
The New York Times reports they congratulated each other when the crashes occurred.
The five are under investigation by police in Union City, New Jersey, but it is unclear if any of them are in custody.
The allegation came as police in New Jersey told the New York Times the hijackers who left from Newark airport on the flight which crashed in Pennsylvania had received aid from associates in the area.
The paper reported law officials said the team was "aided by confederates in Newark who were responsible for logistical support, including money, rental cars, credit cards and lodging".
And it emerged that FBI investigators believe each team of hijackers acted independently from each other but under orders from a supreme commander.
The conclusion was reached after evidence from the flights' passenger lists, payphone records, evidence taken from the rental car seized in Boston and the frantic phone calls made from the hijacked planes.
It was the commander who selected the flights to be hijacked and orchestrated the attacks to occur at about the same time.
But the man has not been publicly identified by investigators, the New York Times reports. His whereabouts are currently unknown." - TCM Breaking News

U.S. arrests of Israelis a mystery

by Doug Saunders, The Globe & Mail [Toronto]
Dec. 17, 2001

LOS ANGELES . U.S. officials have arrested, detained and questioned hundreds of people on vague suspicions of ties to terrorism since Sept. 11, but a few dozen cases are especially mysterious: They are Israelis, young and apparently Jewish, working in the United States on temporary visas and have little obvious connection to Islamic extremism.
The U.S. government has offered no explanation for the detentions, estimated to be as many as 60 in number, and some of them have begun speaking out in protest and asking courts to end their detention. But Washington appears to be treating them as palpable threats: Many remain in jail. Most have been charged with immigration violations, and either have been or will be deported.
Based on what the Israelis say about the questions they have been asked, federal officials appear to believe they are either Muslim extremists hiding behind false Israeli identities or spies working for the Mossad, Israel's intelligence agency.
If the latter is the case, it raises the possibility that Washington is using its antiterrorism campaign as an excuse to round up other groups of people it wants out. "They asked if I was spying on anybody," said Yaniv Hani, 22, who spent four weeks in custody after Sept. 11 and now faces charges from the Immigration and Naturalization Service for working with an improper visa. He said Federal Bureau of Investigation officials asked him whether he was really Muslim before switching to questions about possible ties to Mossad. Mr. Hani worked for a number of years for Israel's military police.
Israel has protested the arrests. Mark Regev, a spokesman for the Israeli embassy in Washington, said the FBI has not contacted Israel about spying allegations, and that "not a single one has been charged with intelligence violations. It has all been visa violations."
Another possibility is that the FBI suspects the Israelis of taking part in a clandestine operation. A majority of those arrested were employees of a Florida company, Quality Sales, that hires vacationing Israeli youth to work at vending carts in U.S. shopping malls.
Thomas Dean, a lawyer for the company, acknowledged that the Israelis had been issued the wrong type of visa, since they were tourists on working vacations rather than permanent workers. However, he noted that their cases had all been labelled "special interest" by the INS, a new designation indicating that they are suspects in the antiterrorism campaign, not regular immigration violators.
"Clearly that was what the FBI, from the very beginning, was very interested in talking about . their activity in the Israeli military or any kind of intelligence agency."
(Israel does have a history of spying against the United States, even though the two nations are officially allies. The most famous case is that of Jonathan Pollard, a U.S. military official convicted in 1987 of espionage for stealing top U.S. military secrets on behalf of Israel.)
Also, five of the Israelis came to the FBI's attention after they were seen by New Jersey residents on Sept. 11 making fun of the World Trade Center ruins and going to extreme lengths to photograph themselves in front of the wreckage. The FBI seized and developed their photos, one of which shows Sivan Kurzberg flicking a cigarette lighter in front of the smouldering ruins in an apparently celebratory gesture.
Steven Noah Gordon, a lawyer for the five, told The New York Times that their behaviour may have been offensive, but said the behaviour was not criminal . "and they were being treated as if it was." The five have since been deported.
U.S. officials have offered no explanation for the arrests, even to immigration judges. Last month, when the INS asked that bail be denied to 11 of the Israelis, a judge rejected the request, saying the government had been less than forthcoming with evidence.
"Although the [INS] alleges that these cases are 'special,' it has failed to present any credible evidence of the basis for this finding," Judge Elizabeth Hacker wrote. "The service has failed to submit any evidence of terrorist activity or of a threat to national security." - The Globe & Mail (Reprint)

5 Israelis detained for `puzzling behavior' after WTC tragedy

By Yossi Melman

"Five Israelis who had worked for a moving company based in New Jersey are being held in U.S. prisons for what the Federal Bureau of Investigation has described as "puzzling behavior" following the terror attack on the World Trade Center in New York last Tuesday. The five are expected to be deported sometime soon.
The families of the five, who asked that their names not be released, said that their sons had been questioned by the FBI for hours on end, had been kept in solitary confinement for three days, and had been humiliated, stripped of their clothes and blindfolded.
The mother of one of the young men explained the chain of events as she understands it to Ha'aretz:
She said that the five had worked for the company, which is owned by an Israeli, for between two months and two years. They had been arrested some four hours after the attack on the Twin Towers while filming the smoking skyline from the roof of their company's building, she said. It appears that they were spotted by one of the neighbors who called the police and the FBI.
The mother said that the families and friends of the five in Israel had known nothing of the men's whereabouts for a number of days.
"When they finally let my son make a phone call for the first time to a friend in the United States two days ago, he told him that he had been tortured by the FBI in a basement," the mother said. "He was stripped to his underwear; he was blindfolded and questioned for 14 hours. They thought that because he has citizenship of a European country as well as of Israel that he was working for the Mossad [Israel's secret service]."
Seven FBI agents later stormed the apartment of one of the Israelis, searched it and questioned his roommate. The Israeli owner of the company, who has U.S. citizenship, was also questioned. Both men were subsequently released.
The families here complained that the Israeli consulate in New York and the situation room set up by the Foreign Ministry there to locate missing Israelis had done nothing to help their sons. The Foreign Ministry told the families that the FBI had denied holding the five and that the consulate had chosen to believe the FBI, the mother said.
The five were transferred out of the FBI's facility on Saturday morning and are now being held in two prisons in New Jersey by the Immigration and Naturalization Services. They are charged with illegally residing in the United States and working there without permits.
The Foreign Ministry said in response that it had been informed by the consulate in New York that the FBI had arrested the five for "puzzling behavior." They are said to have had been caught videotaping the disaster and shouting in what was interpreted as cries of joy and mockery." - Haaretz (09/17/01)

Caught In A Dragnet

Case of five Israelis held here since Sept. 11 reveals tension between civil rights and fight against terrorism.

Stewart Ain - Staff Writer

"Just as President George W. Bush was announcing Monday a new effort to deport foreigners illegally in this country, one of five Israelis jailed for working here illegally called his mother from jail to ask when he could go home. The five men were arrested and imprisoned just hours after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
"He cried and asked how long it will take before he can come home," Israela Marmari of Petach Tikvah said a half-hour after her son, Omer, 22, called from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. "When they were arrested in September, it was believed they were Arabs connected with the terror in New York."
In the moving van they were driving for their employer, Urban Moving Systems in Weehawken, N.J., the men . ages 22 to 27 and all single . carried box cutters. One had $4,000 in cash, another had a camera, and a third had two passports because he is also a German citizen.
They were stopped by a police at about 3 p.m. Sept. 11 after two women saw them standing on the roofs of the moving company and their van, smiling as they took pictures of each other with the burning World Trade Center in the background.
No terrorism charges were ever filed, according to their lawyer, Steven Gordon. A spokesman for the Israeli Consulate in New York said flatly: "We were told specifically that they are not suspects" in the terror attacks.
The five were ordered deported Sept. 25 by an immigration judge after they acknowledged working here illegally. The Immigration and Naturalization Service would normally move expeditiously to deport them, but they have been caught up in the Bush administration.s effort to nab anyone even remotely connected with the terror attacks.
The Israelis are among more than 1,000 people arrested since the attack. As in most of the cases, the government was circumspect in releasing information about the arrests.
Gordon said he had difficulty communicating with his clients because when he called to speak with them at the Metropolitan Detention Center, authorities denied knowledge of their whereabouts. Family members also said they could not call and have spoken with them only twice since their arrests.
An INS spokesman, Russell Bergeron, declined to comment directly on the case but acknowledged there are delays in deporting foreigners picked up in connection with the terror attacks.
"The United States government is involved in a worldwide criminal investigation involving the murder of some 6,000 U.S. citizens," Bergeron explained. "In the course of that investigation, there are individuals who have been arrested by the immigration service. Any individual arrested by INS as a result of this investigation and ordered deported from the United States will remain in custody until that release has been coordinated and cleared by all of the appropriate authorities involved in the investigation.
"We have an obligation to ensure that before individuals are sent out of the country, we are as certain as is humanly possible that they are not linked to or have information regarding the terrorist attack on the United States. There is a time frame before we have to consider releasing those individuals, and it is measured in months."
He said that since Sept. 11, about 235 foreigners have been picked up for questioning by INS; about 185 remain in custody.
The American Civil Liberties Union joined with a coalition of civil liberties groups this week in filing a Freedom of Information Act request for information about all of those detained since Sept. 11.
Tim Edgar, the ACLU.s legislative counsel, said also he was concerned about a new terrorism law signed by Bush last week that gives law enforcement broad powers to track down and arrest suspected terrorists.
"I would say it is one of the most serious erosions of civil liberties since the 1996 Terrorist Act, and maybe even more serious," he said.
Gordon said that as an American he could appreciate the precautions taken by the government. But he said his clients have already passed lie detector tests, been "subjected to rigorous interrogation" . including one 16-hour stretch at the beginning . and that they have not been questioned in more than a month.
"Their investigation has concluded because if there was anything else, they would be charged or continue to be questioned," he said.
Families of the five said their incarceration has been difficult. Until this week, Marmari was held in isolation; the others were released from isolation a few days earlier. All are now in with the general prison population.
"They are in very bad condition emotionally," said Israela Marmari, who noted that her son had been working for the moving company only two weeks before his arrest. "We know that everybody is doing everything they can in Israel and in New York [for them], but nobody knows when this is going to be over.
"They are good boys. They are so innocent. My son was in shock [after his arrest]. He said, .Mommy, I can.t believe it. We are Israeli and live with terror every day. How could anybody believe that Israelis could do anything like this?. "
Ronit Ellner said she had planned to come to the U.S. this month for 10 days to visit her son, Oded, 27, who came to the U.S. six months before his arrest. Ellner said that when she last spoke with Oded by phone, she did most of the talking.
"I wanted to make him strong and I told him it was all a bad dream that would be over," she said. "I said it would be over and he will come back home. He wants to come back. He misses us and he cries."
Katie Shmuel said her son, Yaron, 26, who has dual citizenship, had worked for the moving company about six months.
"It.s all a big mistake," she said.
Heni Kayea, 35, the sister of the other two men, Paul and Sivan Kurzberg, 27 and 23, said the brothers have been kept separate since their arrest. Kayea said the family did not learn of their arrest until two days later when the mother of one of the other men picked up called her parents. home with the news.
"We called immigration and for a month they said there are no names like this in the computer," said Kayea, who lives in Charlotte, N.C.
Kayea said that on the morning of the World Trade Center attack, each of the men called their parents in Israel to assure them they were well and were working in New Jersey at the time. When the family learned that they were arrested in the "belief they were Arabs, we were shocked," she said.
"My brothers are tall with blue eyes and brown hair. They look like Europeans," Kayea said.
She said Sivan, who had the camera, had planned to fly to India on Sept. 14 to meet friends there." -- Jewish Week (11/02/01)

The White Van

Were Israelis Detained on Sept. 11 Spies?

June 21 . "Millions saw the horrific images of the World Trade Center attacks, and those who saw them won't forget them. But a New Jersey homemaker saw something that morning that prompted an investigation into five young Israelis and their possible connection to Israeli intelligence.

Maria, who asked us not to use her last name, had a view of the World Trade Center from her New Jersey apartment building. She remembers a neighbor calling her shortly after the first plane hit the towers.
She grabbed her binoculars and watched the destruction unfolding in lower Manhattan. But as she watched the disaster, something else caught her eye.
Maria says she saw three young men kneeling on the roof of a white van in the parking lot of her apartment building. "They seemed to be taking a movie," Maria said.
The men were taking video or photos of themselves with the World Trade Center burning in the background, she said. What struck Maria were the expressions on the men's faces. "They were like happy, you know . They didn't look shocked to me. I thought it was very strange," she said.
She found the behavior so suspicious that she wrote down the license plate number of the van and called the police. Before long, the FBI was also on the scene, and a statewide bulletin was issued on the van.
The plate number was traced to a van owned by a company called Urban Moving. Around 4 p.m. on Sept. 11, the van was spotted on a service road off Route 3, near New Jersey's Giants Stadium. A police officer pulled the van over, finding five men, between 22 and 27 years old, in the vehicle. The men were taken out of the van at gunpoint and handcuffed by police.
The arresting officers said they saw a lot that aroused their suspicion about the men. One of the passengers had $4,700 in cash hidden in his sock. Another was carrying two foreign passports. A box cutter was found in the van. But perhaps the biggest surprise for the officers came when the five men identified themselves as Israeli citizens.
.We Are Not Your Problem.
According to the police report, one of the passengers told the officers they had been on the West Side Highway in Manhattan "during the incident" . referring to the World Trade Center attack. The driver of the van, Sivan Kurzberg, told the officers, "We are Israeli. We are not your problem. Your problems are our problems. The Palestinians are the problem." The other passengers were his brother Paul Kurzberg, Yaron Shmuel, Oded Ellner and Omer Marmari.
When the men were transferred to jail, the case was transferred out of the FBI's Criminal Division, and into the bureau's Foreign Counterintelligence Section, which is responsible for espionage cases, ABCNEWS has learned.
One reason for the shift, sources told ABCNEWS, was that the FBI believed Urban Moving may have been providing cover for an Israeli intelligence operation.
After the five men were arrested, the FBI got a warrant and searched Urban Moving's Weehawken, N.J., offices.
The FBI searched Urban Moving's offices for several hours, removing boxes of documents and a dozen computer hard drives. The FBI also questioned Urban Moving's owner. His attorney insists that his client answered all of the FBI's questions. But when FBI agents tried to interview him again a few days later, he was gone.
Three months later 2020's cameras photographed the inside of Urban Moving, and it looked as if the business had been shut down in a big hurry. Cell phones were lying around; office phones were still connected; and the property of dozens of clients remained in the warehouse.
The owner had also cleared out of his New Jersey home, put it up for sale and returned with his family to Israel.
.A Scary Situation.
Steven Gordon, the attorney for the five Israeli detainees, acknowledged that his clients' actions on Sept. 11 would easily have aroused suspicions. "You got a group of guys that are taking pictures, on top of a roof, of the World Trade Center. They're speaking in a foreign language. They got two passports on 'em. One's got a wad of cash on him, and they got box cutters. Now that's a scary situation."
But Gordon insisted that his clients were just five young men who had come to America for a vacation, ended up working for a moving company, and were taking pictures of the event.
The five Israelis were held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, ostensibly for overstaying their tourist visas and working in the United States illegally. Two weeks after their arrest, an immigration judge ordered them to be deported. But sources told ABCNEWS that FBI and CIA officials in Washington put a hold on the case.
The five men were held in detention for more than two months. Some of them were placed in solitary confinement for 40 days, and some of them were given as many as seven lie-detector tests.
Plenty of Speculation
Since their arrest, plenty of speculation has swirled about the case, and what the five men were doing that morning. Eventually, The Forward, a respected Jewish newspaper in New York, reported the FBI concluded that two of the men were Israeli intelligence operatives.
Vince Cannistraro, a former chief of operations for counterterrorism with the CIA who is now a consultant for ABCNEWS, said federal authorities' interest in the case was heightened when some of the men's names were found in a search of a national intelligence database.
Israeli Intelligence Connection?
According to Cannistraro, many people in the U.S. intelligence community believed that some of the men arrested were working for Israeli intelligence. Cannistraro said there was speculation as to whether Urban Moving had been "set up or exploited for the purpose of launching an intelligence operation against radical Islamists in the area, particularly in the New Jersey-New York area."
Under this scenario, the alleged spying operation was not aimed against the United States, but at penetrating or monitoring radical fund-raising and support networks in Muslim communities like Paterson, N.J., which was one of the places where several of the hijackers lived in the months prior to Sept. 11.
For the FBI, deciphering the truth from the five Israelis proved to be difficult. One of them, Paul Kurzberg, refused to take a lie-detector test for 10 weeks . then failed it, according to his lawyer. Another of his lawyers told us Kurzberg had been reluctant to take the test because he had once worked for Israeli intelligence in another country.
Sources say the Israelis were targeting these fund-raising networks because they were thought to be channeling money to Hamas and Islamic Jihad, groups that are responsible for most of the suicide bombings in Israel. "[The] Israeli government has been very concerned about the activity of radical Islamic groups in the United States that could be a support apparatus to Hamas and Islamic Jihad," Cannistraro said.
The men denied that they had been working for Israeli intelligence out of the New Jersey moving company, and Ram Horvitz, their Israeli attorney, dismissed the allegations as "stupid and ridiculous."
Mark Regev, the spokesman for the Israeli Embassy in Washington, goes even further, asserting the issue was never even discussed with U.S. officials.
"These five men were not involved in any intelligence operation in the United States, and the American intelligence authorities have never raised this issue with us," Regev said. "The story is simply false."
No .Pre-Knowledge.
Despite the denials, sources tell ABCNEWS there is still debate within the FBI over whether or not the young men were spies. Many U.S. government officials still believe that some of them were on a mission for Israeli intelligence. But the FBI told ABCNEWS, "To date, this investigation has not identified anybody who in this country had pre-knowledge of the events of 9/11."
Sources also said that even if the men were spies, there is no evidence to conclude they had advance knowledge of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11. The investigation, at the end of the day, after all the polygraphs, all of the field work, all the cross-checking, the intelligence work, concluded that they probably did not have advance knowledge of 9/11," Cannistraro noted.
As to what they were doing on the van, they say they read about the attack on the Internet, couldn't see it from their offices and went to the parking lot for a better view. But no one has been able to find a good explanation for why they may have been smiling with the towers of the World Trade Center burning in the background. Both the lawyers for the young men and the Israeli Embassy chalk it up to immature conduct.
According to ABCNEWS sources, Israeli and U.S. government officials worked out a deal . and after 71 days, the five Israelis were taken out of jail, put on a plane, and deported back home.
While the former detainees refused to answer ABCNEWS' questions about their detention and what they were doing on Sept. 11, several of the detainees discussed their experience in America on an Israeli talk show after their return home.
Said one of the men, denying that they were laughing or happy on the morning of Sept. 11, "The fact of the matter is we are coming from a country that experiences terror daily. Our purpose was to document the event." - ABC News (Archive - Reprint) (09/21/02)

State Granted Access to Moving Company's Storage Facility

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
December 13, 2001

"NEWARK- The State Division of Consumer Affairs ("Consumer Affairs") is asking all citizens who have goods stored at Urban Moving Systems' Weehawken warehouse to immediately contact Consumer Affairs, Attorney General John J. Farmer, Jr., and New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs Director Mark S. Herr announced today.

The State on Wednesday obtained a court order giving inspectors from Consumer Affairs access to the facility allowing consumers access to retrieve their goods and belongings. The State, at the same time, filed a lawsuit in Hudson County Superior Court against Urban Moving Systems and its owner Dominick Suter alleging violations of both the State's Consumer Fraud Act and regulations set forth in the Public Movers and Warehousing Licensing Act.

According to the complaint, on or about September 14, 2001, Suter departed from the United States and left no one acting as an agent for Urban.

The complaint also alleges that Suter violated the Mover's Act by, among other things, failing to provide Consumer Affairs the name of a current contact person or agent, not adequately responding to consumer requests for access to their belongings and not having an agent available for at least 20-30 per week to allow consumers access to their belongings.

"We became aware of the hardship consumers faced who could not get access to their belongings at Urban's warehouse," Attorney General Farmer said. "By obtaining this court order we can now offer consumers access to what is rightfully theirs. Our lawsuit should serve notice that we intend to prosecute those who violate our laws and undermine the public's trust."

"It appears that goods belonging to approximately 100 consumers are stored at the warehouse. Thus far we have only heard from 36 consumers," Herr said. "We have access to the facility for 30 days so we are urging consumers who have goods stored with Urban to contact us as soon as possible."

Consumers can gain access to the facility on an appointment basis and will have to provide proof of ownership to claim their goods, Herr said.

Consumers should contact Consumer Affairs at 973-504-6442 or 973-504-6228 to gain access to the Urban facility.

A violation of the Consumer Fraud Act carries a maximum penalty of $7,500 for the first offense and $15,000 for the second and each subsequent offense. A violation of the Licensing Act carries a penalty of $2,500 for the first offense and $5,000 for the second and each subsequent offense.

Deputy Attorney General Alan R. Niedz of the Division of Law is handling this matter for the State." - New Jersey Law & Public Safety

Spy Rumors Fly on Gusts of Truth

Americans Probing Reports of Israeli Espionage

MARCH 15, 2002

By MARC PERELMAN
FORWARD STAFF

"Despite angry denials by Israel and its American supporters, reports that Israel was conducting spying activities in the United States may have a grain of truth, the Forward has learned.

However, far from pointing to Israeli spying against U.S. government and military facilities, as reported in Europe last week, the incidents in question appear to represent a case of Israelis in the United States spying on a common enemy, radical Islamic networks suspected of links to Middle East terrorism.

In particular, a group of five Israelis arrested in New Jersey shortly after the September 11 attacks and held for more than two months was subjected to an unusual number of polygraph tests and interrogated by a series of government agencies including the FBI's counterintelligence division, which by some reports remains convinced that Israel was conducting an intelligence operation. The five Israelis worked for a moving company with few discernable assets that closed up shop immediately afterward and whose owner fled to Israel.

Other allegations involved Israelis claiming to be art students who had backgrounds in signal interception and ordnance. (See related story, Page 8.)

Sources emphasized that the release of all the Israelis under investigation indicates that they were cleared of any suspicion that they had prior knowledge of the September 11 attacks, as some anti-Israel media outlets have suggested.

The resulting tensions between Washington and Jerusalem, sources told the Forward, arose not because of the operations' targets but because Israel reportedly violated a secret gentlemen's agreement between the two countries under which espionage on each other's soil is to be coordinated in advance.

Most experts and former officials interviewed for this article said that such so-called unilateral or uncoordinated Israeli monitoring of radical Muslims in America would not be surprising.

In fact, they said, Israeli intelligence played a key role in helping the Bush administration to crack down on Islamic charities suspected of funneling money to terrorist groups, most notably the Richardson, Texas-based Holy Land Foundation last December.

"I have no doubt Israel has an interest in spying on those groups," said Peter Unsinger, an intelligence expert who teaches justice administration at San Jose University. "The Israelis give us good stuff, like on the Hamas charities."

According to one former high-ranking American intelligence official, who asked not to be named, the FBI came to the conclusion at the end of its investigation that the five Israelis arrested in New Jersey last September were conducting a Mossad surveillance mission and that their employer, Urban Moving Systems of Weehawken, N.J., served as a front.

After their arrest, the men were held in detention for two-and-a-half months and were deported at the end of November, officially for visa violations.

However, a counterintelligence investigation by the FBI concluded that at least two of them were in fact Mossad operatives, according to the former American official, who said he was regularly briefed on the investigation by two separate law enforcement officials.

"The assessment was that Urban Moving Systems was a front for the Mossad and operatives employed by it," he said. "The conclusion of the FBI was that they were spying on local Arabs but that they could leave because they did not know anything about 9/11."

However, he added, the bureau was "very irritated because it was a case of so-called unilateral espionage, meaning they didn't know about it."

Spokesmen for the FBI, the Justice Department and the Immigration and Naturalization Service refused to discuss the case. Israeli officials flatly dismissed the allegations as untrue.

However, the former American official said that after American authorities confronted Jerusalem on the issue at the end of last year, the Israeli government acknowledged the operation and apologized for not coordinating it with Washington.

The five men . Sivan and Paul Kurzberg, Oded Ellner, Omer Marmari and Yaron Shmuel . were arrested eight hours after the attacks by the Bergen County, N.J., police while driving in an Urban Moving Systems van. The police acted on an FBI alert after the men allegedly were seen acting strangely while watching the events from the roof of their warehouse and the roof of their van.

In addition to their strange behavior and their Middle Eastern looks, the suspicions were compounded when a box cutter and $4,000 in cash were found in the van. Moreover, one man carried two passports and another had fresh pictures of the men standing with the smoldering wreckage of the World Trade Center in the background.

The Bergen County police immediately handed the suspects to the INS, which turned them over to a joint police-FBI terrorism task force set up after September 11 to deal with all possible links with the attacks.

The five Israelis were detained in the high-security Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn in solitary confinement until mid-October. On September 25, they all signed papers acknowledging violations of U**** immigration law. At the end of October, the INS issued a deportation order which was enforced a month later after a review by the Justice Department and prodding by Jewish and Israeli officials.

However, the former official said, this is just the official story.

In fact, he said, the nature of the investigation changed after the names of two of the five Israelis showed up on a CIA-FBI database of foreign intelligence operatives, he said. At that point, he said, the bureau took control of the investigation and launched a Foreign Counterintelligence Investigation, or FCI.

FBI investigations into possible links to the September 11 attacks are usually carried by the bureau's counterterrorism division, not its counterintelligence division.

"An FCI means not only that it was serious but also that it was handled at a very high level and very tightly," the former official said. That view was echoed by several former FBI officials interviewed.

Steven Gordon, an American lawyer hired by the families to help secure their release, said he could not confirm which FBI division was in charge of the investigation. However, he acknowledged that "there were a lot of people involved, including counterintelligence officials from the FBI."

The men all underwent at least two polygraph tests each, the lawyer added. He said one of the Israelis took the test seven times, a very unusual total according to several polygraph experts interviewed by the Forward.

After the men were arrested, FBI agents searched the warehouse of Urban Moving Systems in Weehawken, N.J., seizing computer hard drives and documents. The warehouse was closed on September 14, said Ron George, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Division of Consumer Affairs.

On December 7, a New Jersey judge ruled that the state could seize the goods remaining inside the warehouse. The state also has a lawsuit pending against Urban Moving Systems and its owner, Dominik Otto Suter, an Israeli citizen.

The FBI questioned Mr. Suter once. However, he left the country afterward and went back to Israel before further questioning. Mr. Suter declined through his lawyer to be interviewed for this article.

Earlier this year, the New York State Department of Transportation revoked Urban Moving System's license after discovering that the company's midtown Manhattan base was only a mailing address.

After they returned to Israel at the end of November, the five men told local media that they were kept in solitary confinement, beaten, deprived of food and questioned while blindfolded and in their underwear.

Mr. Ellner, one of the five Israelis, said on two occasions in recent weeks that the five men had decided not to grant any interviews right now "because we went through a very difficult period and we are not ready for this."

Their Israeli lawyer, Ram Horwitz, told the Forward he was still waiting for the results of the medical tests undertaken by the men in Israel to make a decision on an eventual lawsuit in the United States for mistreatment.

Mr. Horwitz insisted the men were not intelligence officers.

Irit Stoffer, an Israeli Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, said the allegations were "completely untrue" and that there were "only visa violations."

"The FBI investigated those cases because of 9/11," Ms. Stoffer said.

Charlene Eban, a spokeswoman for the FBI in Washington, and Don Nelson, a Justice Department spokesman, said they had no knowledge of an Israeli spying operation.

"If we found evidence of unauthorized intelligence operations, that would be classified material," added Jim Margolin, a spokesman for the FBI in New York.

One leading expert in American intelligence operations, Chip Berlet, a senior analyst at the Boston-based Political Research Associates, explained that there "is a backdoor agreement between allies that says that if one of your spies gets caught and didn't do too much harm, he goes home. It goes on all the time. The official reason is always a visa violation." - The Forward

Five Israelis were seen filming as jet liners ploughed into the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001 ...

Were they part of a massive spy ring which shadowed the 9/11 hijackers and knew that al-Qaeda planned a devastating terrorist attack on the USA? Neil Mackay investigates

02 November 2003

THERE was ruin and terror in Manhattan, but, over the Hudson River in New Jersey, a handful of men were dancing. As the World Trade Centre burned and crumpled, the five men celebrated and filmed the worst atrocity ever committed on American soil as it played out before their eyes.

Who do you think they were? Palestinians? Saudis? Iraqis, even? Al-Qaeda, surely? Wrong on all counts. They were Israelis -- and at least two of them were Israeli intelligence agents, working for Mossad, the equivalent of MI6 or the CIA.

Their discovery and arrest that morning is a matter of indisputable fact. To those who have investigated just what the Israelis were up to that day, the case raises one dreadful possibility: that Israeli intelligence had been shadowing the al-Qaeda hijackers as they moved from the Middle East through Europe and into America where they trained as pilots and prepared to suicide-bomb the symbolic heart of the United States. And the motive? To bind America in blood and mutual suffering to the Israeli cause.

After the attacks on New York and Washington, the former Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, was asked what the terrorist strikes would mean for US-Israeli relations. He said: "It.s very good." Then he corrected himself, adding: "Well, it.s not good, but it will generate immediate sympathy [for Israel from Americans]."

If Israel.s closest ally felt the collective pain of mass civilian deaths at the hands of terrorists, then Israel would have an unbreakable bond with the world.s only hyperpower and an effective free hand in dealing with the Palestinian terrorists who had been murdering its innocent civilians as the second intifada dragged on throughout 2001.

It.s not surprising that the New Jersey housewife who first spotted the five Israelis and their white van wants to preserve her anonymity. She.s insisted that she only be identified as Maria. A neighbour in her apartment building had called her just after the first strike on the Twin Towers. Maria grabbed a pair of binoculars and, like millions across the world, she watched the horror of the day unfold.

As she gazed at the burning towers, she noticed a group of men kneeling on the roof of a white van in her parking lot. Here.s her recollection: "They seemed to be taking a movie. They were like happy, you know ... they didn.t look shocked to me. I thought it was strange."

Maria jotted down the van.s registration and called the police. The FBI was alerted and soon there was a statewide all points bulletin put out for the apprehension of the van and its occupants. The cops traced the number, establishing that it belonged to a company called Urban Moving.

Police Chief John Schmidig said: "We got an alert to be on the lookout for a white Chevrolet van with New Jersey registration and writing on the side. Three individuals were seen celebrating in Liberty State Park after the impact. They said three people were jumping up and down."

By 4pm on the afternoon of September 11, the van was spotted near New Jersey.s Giants stadium. A squad car pulled it over and inside were five men in their 20s. They were hustled out of the car with guns levelled at their heads and handcuffed.

In the car was $4700 in cash, a couple of foreign passports and a pair of box cutters -- the concealed Stanley Knife-type blades used by the 19 hijackers who.d flown jetliners into the World Trade Centre and Pentagon just hours before. There were also fresh pictures of the men standing with the smouldering wreckage of the Twin Towers in the background. One image showed a hand flicking a lighter in front of the devastated buildings, like a fan at a pop concert. The driver of the van then told the arresting officers: "We are Israeli. We are not your problem. Your problems are our problems. The Palestinians are the problem."

His name was Sivan Kurzberg. The other four passengers were Kurzberg.s brother Paul, Yaron Shmuel, Oded Ellner and Omer Marmari. The men were dragged off to prison and transferred out of the custody of the FBI.s Criminal Division and into the hands of their Foreign Counterintelligence Section -- the bureau.s anti-espionage squad.

A warrant was issued for a search of the Urban Moving premises in Weehawken in New Jersey. Boxes of papers and computers were removed. The FBI questioned the firm.s Israeli owner, Dominik Otto Suter, but when agents returned to re-interview him a few days later, he was gone. An employee of Urban Moving said his co-workers had laughed about the Manhattan attacks the day they happened. "I was in tears," the man said. "These guys were joking and that bothered me. These guys were like, .Now America knows what we go through.."

Vince Cannistraro, former chief of operations for counter-terrorism with the CIA, says the red flag went up among investigators when it was discovered that some of the Israelis. names were found in a search of the national intelligence database. Cannistraro says many in the US intelligence community believed that some of the Israelis were working for Mossad and there was speculation over whether Urban Moving had been "set up or exploited for the purpose of launching an intelligence operation against radical Islamists".

This makes it clear that there was no suggestion whatsoever from within American intelligence that the Israelis were colluding with the 9/11 hijackers -- simply that the possibility remains that they knew the attacks were going to happen, but effectively did nothing to help stop them.

After the owner vanished, the offices of Urban Moving looked as if they.d been closed down in a big hurry. Mobile phones were littered about, the office phones were still connected and the property of at least a dozen clients were stacked up in the warehouse. The owner had cleared out his family home in New Jersey and returned to Israel.

Two weeks after their arrest, the Israelis were still in detention, held on immigration charges. Then a judge ruled that they should be deported. But the CIA scuppered the deal and the five remained in custody for another two months. Some went into solitary confinement, all underwent two polygraph tests and at least one underwent up to seven lie detector sessions before they were eventually deported at the end of November 2001. Paul Kurzberg refused to take a lie detector test for 10 weeks, but then failed it. His lawyer said he was reluctant to take the test as he had once worked for Israeli intelligence in another country.

Nevertheless, their lawyer, Ram Horvitz, dismissed the allegations as "stupid and ridiculous". Yet US government sources still maintained that the Israelis were collecting information on the fundraising activities of groups like Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Mark Regev, of the Israeli embassy in Washington, would have none of that and he said the allegations were "simply false". The men themselves claimed they.d read about the World Trade Centre attacks on the internet, couldn.t see it from their office and went to the parking lot for a better view. Their lawyers and the embassy say their ghoulish and sinister celebrations as the Twin Towers blazed and thousands died were due to youthful foolishness.

The respected New York Jewish newspaper, The Forward, reported in March 2002, however, that it had received a briefing on the case of the five Israelis from a US official who was regularly updated by law enforcement agencies. This is what he told The Forward: "The assessment was that Urban Moving Systems was a front for the Mossad and operatives employed by it." He added that "the conclusion of the FBI was that they were spying on local Arabs", but the men were released because they "did not know anything about 9/11".

Back in Israel, several of the men discussed what happened on an Israeli talk show. One of them made this remarkable comment: "The fact of the matter is we are coming from a country that experiences terror daily. Our purpose was to document the event." But how can you document an event unless you know it is going to happen?

We are now deep in conspiracy theory territory. But there is more than a little circumstantial evidence to show that Mossad -- whose motto is "By way of deception, thou shalt do war" -- was spying on Arab extremists in the USA and may have known that September 11 was in the offing, yet decided to withhold vital information from their American counterparts which could have prevented the terror attacks.

Following September 11, 2001, more than 60 Israelis were taken into custody under the Patriot Act and immigration laws. One highly placed investigator told Carl Cameron of Fox News that there were "tie-ins" between the Israelis and September 11; the hint was clearly that they.d gathered intelligence on the planned attacks but kept it to themselves.

The Fox News source refused to give details, saying: "Evidence linking these Israelis to 9/11 is classified. I cannot tell you about evidence that has been gathered. It.s classified information." Fox News is not noted for its condemnation of Israel; it.s a ruggedly patriotic news channel owned by Rupert Murdoch and was President Bush.s main cheerleader in the war on terror and the invasion of Iraq.

Another group of around 140 Israelis were detained prior to September 11, 2001, in the USA as part of a widespread investigation into a suspected espionage ring run by Israel inside the USA. Government documents refer to the spy ring as an "organised intelligence-gathering operation" designed to "penetrate government facilities". Most of those arrested had served in the Israeli armed forces -- but military service is compulsory in Israel. Nevertheless, a number had an intelligence background.

The first glimmerings of an Israeli spying exercise in the USA came to light in spring 2001, when the FBI sent a warning to other federal agencies alerting them to be wary of visitors calling themselves "Israeli art students" and attempting to bypass security at federal buildings in order to sell paintings. A Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) report suggested the Israeli calls "may well be an organised intelligence-gathering activity". Law enforcement documents say that the Israelis "targeted and penetrated military bases" as well as the DEA, FBI and dozens of government facilities, including secret offices and the unlisted private homes of law enforcement and intelligence personnel.

A number of Israelis questioned by the authorities said they were students from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, but Pnina Calpen, a spokeswoman for the Israeli school, did not recognise the names of any Israelis mentioned as studying there in the past 10 years. A federal report into the so-called art students said many had served in intelligence and electronic signal intercept units during their military service.

According to a 61-page report, drafted after an investigation by the DEA and the USSeptember 11, 2001, when a report by a French intelligence agency noted "according to the FBI, Arab terrorists and suspected terror cells lived in Phoenix, Arizona, as well as in Miami and Hollywood, Florida, from December 2000 to April 2001 in direct proximity to the Israeli spy cells". immigration service, the Israelis were organised into cells of four to six people. The significance of what the Israelis were doing didn.t emerge until after

The report contended that Mossad agents were spying on Mohammed Atta and Marwan al-Shehi, two of leaders of the 9/11 hijack teams. The pair had settled in Hollywood, Florida, along with three other hijackers, after leaving Hamburg -- where another Mossad team was operating close by.

Hollywood in Florida is a town of just 25,000 souls. The French intelligence report says the leader of the Mossad cell in Florida rented apartments "right near the apartment of Atta and al-Shehi". More than a third of the Israeli "art students" claimed residence in Florida. Two other Israelis connected to the art ring showed up in Fort Lauderdale. At one time, eight of the hijackers lived just north of the town.

Put together, the facts do appear to indicate that Israel knew that 9/11, or at least a large-scale terror attack, was about to take place on American soil, but did nothing to warn the USA. But that.s not quite true. In August 2001, the Israelis handed over a list of terrorist suspects -- on it were the names of four of the September 11 hijackers. Significantly, however, the warning said the terrorists were planning an attack "outside the United States".

The Israeli embassy in Washington has dismissed claims about the spying ring as "simply untrue". The same denials have been issued repeatedly by the five Israelis seen high-fiving each other as the World Trade Centre burned in front of them.

Their lawyer, Ram Horwitz, insisted his clients were not intelligence officers. Irit Stoffer, the Israeli foreign minister, said the allegations were "completely untrue". She said the men were arrested because of "visa violations", adding: "The FBI investigated those cases because of 9/11."

Jim Margolin, an FBI spokesman in New York, implied that the public would never know the truth, saying: "If we found evidence of unauthorised intelligence operations that would be classified material." Yet, Israel has long been known, according to US administration sources, for "conducting the most aggressive espionage operations against the US of any US ally". Seventeen years ago, Jonathan Pollard, a civilian working for the American Navy, was jailed for life for passing secrets to Israel. At first, Israel claimed Pollard was part of a rogue operation, but the government later took responsibility for his work.

It has always been a long-accepted agreement among allies -- such as Britain and America or America and Israel -- that neither country will jail a "friendly spy" nor shame the allied country for espionage. Chip Berlet, a senior analyst at Boston.s Political Research Associates and an expert in intelligence, says: "It.s a backdoor agreement between allies that says that if one of your spies gets caught and didn.t do too much harm, he goes home. It goes on all the time. The official reason is always visa violation."

What we are left with, then, is fact sullied by innuendo. Certainly, it seems, Israel was spying within the borders of the United States and it is equally certain that the targets were Islamic extremists probably linked to September 11. But did Israel know in advance that the Twin Towers would be hit and the world plunged into a war without end; a war which would give Israel the power to strike its enemies almost without limit? That.s a conspiracy theory too far, perhaps. But the unpleasant feeling that, in this age of spin and secrets, we do not know the full and unadulterated truth won.t go away. Maybe we can guess, but it.s for the history books to discover and decide. - Sunday Herald
